The U-ELCOME Digital Sky Demonstrator project team has tested U-space services in the Italian Civil Aviation Authority approved sandbox near Rome Fiumicino Airport.
The sandbox was hosted by UrbanV and provided a controlled environment to evaluate U-space capabilities in real-world conditions while ensuring maximum safety and efficiency.
As part of the event, TopView Srl deployed the Pollicino drone tracker in a live aerial inspection scenario. The system remotely identified the drone and ensured compliance with the authorised airspace.
The sandbox was supported by D-Flight U-space services and noise measurements were conducted by CIRA – Italian Aerospace Research Centre.
