Swiss drone operator Dpedndent has announced its participation as a new member to the Drone Logistics Ecosystem. Dpendent’s engineering team has developed an automated robotic battery swap, payload swap and refueling landing station concept, with the potential to be used in the drone cargo delivery industry. In particular, the company is working on the project to create an automated package management system, that will be able to load and unload parcels, enabling delivery operations to be accomplished 24/7 autonomously. Moreover, a network of stations working as pit-stops can be organized, thus expanding delivery roads to virtually infinite distances.
Dpendent LLC, Co-founder and COO Loic Desfaves said “Most professional drones require frequent and intensive human ground handling, inducing costs and immobilization times that dramatically limit the impact they can have. As automatization will be a key element for the full development of the drone delivery market, Dpendent is proud to join the Drone Logistics Ecosystem to create the synergies that will help us work around the technical and regulatory challenges ahead.”
Drone Logistics Ecosystem is a free of charge, global multidisciplinary “quadruple helix” network of Companies, Universities, Public/Government, and Investors to stimulate innovations, collaborations, and standardisations in the drone logistics industry.
