Speedbird Aero joins Drone Logistics Ecosystem

Speedbird Aero has become the latest member of Drone Logistics Ecosystem (DLE). DLE aims to bring together stakeholders to collaborate on standardisation, and currently includes over 60 organisations as members.

Speedbird is a drone delivery company and manufacturer and operator of uncrewed aerial systems. Headquartered in Brazil, the company opened a new branch in Portugal earlier this year.

Speedbird has developed its own commercial delivery drone platforms such as the beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) approved multirotor DLV-2 aircraft designed to carry 3-12 kg of payload in a flight-range of 20-40 km and the eVTOL DLV-4 aircraft < 5 kg payload in a flight-range of 100 km. The company currently has BVLOS operations on three continents and is certified to carry biological substances.

Other recent DLE members include Indian drone delivery startup Vama Skylight as well as Drone Express and Stratomaps.
