Skypuzzler to receive European Innovation Council funding to progress UTM

Skypuzzler ApS has been selected by the European Innovation Council (EIC) to receive funding.

A total of 969 companies submitted a full proposal for the funding, with 347 of these interviewed by juries of experienced investors and entrepreneurs. The jury then selected the 68 best companies to receive funding, of which Skypuzzler is one.

Together, the selected companies will receive an estimated EUR411 million in funding, incorporating both grants and equity. In most cases, the companies will receive the grant financing within the next three months.

Skypuzzler’s integrated Digital Air Traffic Control (iDATC) is an add-on module to UTM systems, designed to provide tactical deconfliction in real-time with a holistic traffic view to foresee and mitigate potential conflicts, enabling drones to fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

In a statement, the company said that in addition to the financial support, it will benefit from “access to relevant and leading expertise, investors, corporates, and prominent figures in the ecosystem”.

Skypuzzler was recently chosen to participate in the uncrewed airspace management Plazza Accelerator programme in Toulouse. This programme is co-funded by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.
