skeyes and SkeyDrone support Brussels police for new drone operations

The Brussels Capital Ixelles local police zone has officially received the green light for the deployment of three drone-in-a-box systems for police operations.

The uncrewed aircraft will be deployed to map the situation on site prior to the arrival of patrols. Based on this real-time information, the emergency services can make a better estimate of the necessary resources and personnel.

The drones and pilots are provided by Citymesh, which has carried out over 600 beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flights for the Fire Department this year.  SkeyDrone, acting as U-space service provider, is providing technology and services for the safe execution of these flight operations. National air navigation service provider and manager of Belgian airspace, skeyes, will work as a facilitator for public actors such as the police force and emergency services.
