Percepto deploys second drone for BVLOS mine surveillance

Percepto has announced in a LinkedIn post that it has successfully deployed its second AirMax drone system at a large-scale operational mining site in West Africa.

The addition of the second system enables constant surveillance and monitoring, including at night with the help of thermal cameras. While one drone is charging the second is available for take off.

Deploying a second system also reduces the need for personnel in hazardous zones. The drones add to a safer operational environment by automating inspections and environmental monitoring of pipelines and different assets around the site.

Percepto received beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) remote operations approval from the regulator, enabling the flights to be conducted without a physical presence at the site.

The company’s global partners SKT Aeroshutter and HELJO Industries contributed to the deployment.
