Open Skies partner Neuron announces USD3.5M seed round

Neuron has launched a USD3.5M seed funding round, focusing on the growing Decentralised Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN) space.

The company is a partner in the Open Skies programme in the Open Skies Cornwall region, which aims to build an airspace environment suitable for integration, using ground based sensors and software.

DePIN enables individuals and businesses to run services independently and own their relationships with their customers. Neuron’s edge-based infrastructure can enable a range of use cases such as flight tracking and GNSS integrations. The company’s open-source software makes it possible for devices to discover services, connect to them, and pay using Neuron’s machine-to-machine payments infrastructure. This allows both manual and automated devices and systems to transact and ensures payments are safeguarded and guaranteed by service-level agreements.

By the end of 2024, Neuron plans to deploy on the Hedera mainnet. In Q2 2025, the company will launch its $NRN token to enable new use cases, and, by the end of 2025, it aims to scale to three-four key use cases, with 10,000 active users.
