JEDA and EASN form alliance to accelerate UAS integration in European airspace

The Joint European Drone Associations (JEDA) and the European Aerospace Science Network (EASN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, forming an alliance on aerospace and drone policy, research and market development.

The MoU was officially signed by Julie Garland, President of JEDA, and Prof. Andreas Strohmayer, Chairman of EASN.

Under the terms of the MoU, JEDA and EASN will jointly participate in EU-funded research and innovation projects and in the promotion of cutting-edge aeronautics and aviation research. They will host thematic workshops, conference sessions and events to foster cross-sector dialogue as well as expand member networks and synergies between academia, industry and regulators. Shared dissemination channels will be used for breakthrough technologies and best practices.

Announcing the MoU, JEDA and EASN said they aim to accelerate the safe, sustainable and innovative integration of drones into European airspace — backed by scientific rigor and operational expertise.
