The Global UTM Association (GUTMA) has announced the release of the July edition of the UTM Standards Report.
The document, only available to GUTMA Members and now accessible and downloadable on the association’s website’s Members Area, features the most up-to-date information on the development of UTM standards and the related initiatives, including the work plan of the main global Standards Development Organizations (SDOs), including ASTM, GSMA-ACJA, EUROCAE, and SAE.
“By working together with the above-mentioned SDOs, GUTMA has positioned itself as a frontrunner in the standards development process,” according to a press release announcing the launch. “Our goal is to cooperate and provide help and guidance to regulators and policymakers, to successfully integrate drones into the civil airspace. To achieve such an ambitious goal and change the transport industry forever, it is fundamental to engage a wide array of industries, from telecommunications to Internet-of-Things companies, in the path to standards development and harmonization.
“The development of shared standards is a crucial element for the establishment of a sound, competitive, and sustainable UAS industry. For this reason, GUTMA will keep on ensuring that the standards development process is driven by continuous and thorough cooperation between industry and institutional stakeholders.”
