CANSO and Alliance for New Mobility Europe (AME) have formalised their collaboration by signing a cooperation agreement during the EU Drone Days conference in Brussels 29-30 November 2022, co-organised by SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking co-organised with the European Commission.
According to the press release, the cooperation between AME and CANSO will comprise various types of activities, including:
- Regular contact and exchange, especially in the context of upcoming regulatory steps, consultations or major events related to drone regulation
- Developing joint positions or recommendations; referencing aligned positions in separate responses to drone regulatory items (e.g. EU drone Strategy 2.0)
- Organising joint activities, such as workshops – Coordinating engagement with regulatory and legislative authorities, vendors and media
This cooperation agreement will ensure both parties are better prepared and reinforces their willingness to work in mutual support of the safety of the European aviation and drone community.
And while that was happening, Urban air mobility, emergency medical deliveries and aerial infrastructure inspections were just some of the everyday uses for drones showcased during EU Drone Days, a two-day conference co-organised by the European Commission and the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking (SESAR 3 JU). The conference highlighted the important role that innovation is playing in building a competitive, safe and sustainable drone services market in Europe, with up to EUR 35 million in EU-SESAR funding available in 2023 to fast-track the uptake of future SESAR
