Elsight to provide connectivity platform for ACSL drones in Japan

Elsight, together with its new regional partner Navicom Aviation, will provide the Halo connectivity platform to Japanese drone manufacturer ACSL. Halo will be used to strengthen the drones’ LTE communications and help overcome obstacles while flying over Japan’s mountainous terrain.

Following successful tests, ACSL will now start offering its drones with Elsight’s Halo onboard for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations. Halo is an AI-based connectivity platform designed specifically for BVLOS drone flights, capable of integrating LTE, 5G, and satellite communications.

The hilly terrain in Japan has posed a challenge for widespread drone adoption and this new development is expected to expand and improve operations, particularly in the logistics field.
