Elbit’s Hermes 900 Starliner licensed for civilian use

The Hermes 900 Starliner uncrewed aerial system, developed by Elbit Systems, has been licensed for civilian air routes. To achieve civilian certification, the Starliner underwent extensive testing and met over 350 aviation regulations.

A derivative of Elbit’s Hermes 900, which is used by militaries in several countries, the Starliner is equipped with dual safety systems and parachutes for emergency landings. It can provide surveillance from safe altitudes with extended loiter times, making it suitable for disaster response or homeland security applications. Examples include managing avalanches, monitoring deforestation in the Amazon, conducting border surveillance with neighbouring countries, and ensuring security at large-scale events.
