The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has developed a streamlined system for the direct accreditation of Qualified Entities, including for the agency’s drones and air mobility domain. Qualified Entities play a key role in EASA’s outsourcing strategy of certification and oversight tasks.
The new system is designed to offer greater flexibility enabling faster and more efficient responses to the evolving needs of the agency, national competent authorities and industry. Once accredited by EASA or a national authority, the qualified entity’s status is mutually recognised across the board with no need for additional evaluations or technical requirements.
EASA will launch calls for expression of interest, inviting eligible entities to apply for accreditation to carry out certain certification and oversight tasks on behalf of EASA. Accredited Qualified Entities will be subjected to continued compliance verification and oversight.
Interested parties can register on the EASA website or log in to their existing account and personalise the notification settings to receive updates and notifications when the new calls are launched.
