Public safety and emergency services drone pilots from across the globe will gather virtually to share use cases, best practices, and key learnings at the DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety Summit held in a virtual environment at Commercial UAV Expo Americas from September 15-17, 2020.
Diversified Communications, the producer of Commercial UAV Expo Americas, will again partner with Airborne International Response Team (AIRT), a non-profit organization supporting Drones For Good, to produce the DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety Summit, a virtual event for first responders and search and rescue personnel operating sUAS.
“We are excited to partner with AIRT to provide DRONERESPONDERS-branded content that supports the use of drones by public safety agencies and emergency services organizations.” said Lisa Murray, Group Director at Diversified Communications. “This year’s virtual production will provide a new opportunity for first responders drones teams to share ideas and outcomes that will benefit the whole community.”
“With the global COVID-19 pandemic, interest in the use of unmanned systems by first responders is increasing at a rapid pace to help promote physical distancing during public safety operations,” said Chief Charles Werner (ret.), Director of DRONERESPONDERS. “The Commercial UAV Expo virtual event provides an ideal forum for helping DRONERSPONDERS to expand awareness and knowledge surrounding sUAS for law enforcement, fire rescue, and other emergency services.”
For 2020, Commercial UAV Expo Virtual will offer special group pricing that allows emergency drones teams to attend as a unit. For just USD65, public safety professionals can purchase an individual pass which includes individual access to the Public Safety Summit Content as well as access to the Commercial UAV Expo keynotes and AI-powered matchmaking. For groups of 5 and over, the group price per individual is just USD49 for the same access.
According to Murray and Werner, the organizations made it a point to offer the lowest price possible to encourage first responders from all over the globe easy access to critical information and an unparalleled networking opportunity to foster sharing of best practices with each other. They believe this will provide an enhanced learning opportunity for public safety organization to train their personnel without paying the typical costs associated with a team of people travelling to a venue.
“This year public safety agencies will be able to have their entire UAS team attend the DRONERESPONDERS summit virtually – without having to pay the typical travel costs associated with sending personnel out on travel orders,” says Werner. “We expect this to be a game-changer for how public safety UAS teams train moving forward.”
