Emergency services are now supported by drones within the Port of Rotterdam according to a post by Uncrewed Traffic Management (UTM) provider Airwayz. As a result of collaboration between the Port Authority, the Netherlands Instituut publieke Veiligheid (NIPV) and Airwayz, UTM systems can now be utilized to provide support to emergency services within the Port.
By sharing UAS telemetry data with the NIPV, the UTM technology facilitates coordination between drones operated by emergency services. This ensures that drone flights can proceed smoothly and without any disruptions.
“Being integrated into the Port Dynamic UTM systems will not only elevate NIPV’s operational capabilities, but also foster improved collaboration with government agencies and numerous drone service providers who also operate within the Port,” says Airwayz.
