BIAS Aeronautics, a SOMACOR company, has been certified by the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics to carry out heavy cargo transport with drones, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flights, and the cleaning of facades and solar panels with uncrewed aerial systems.
SOMACOR says BIAS is the first company in Chile to receive the heavy cargo transport certification.
The company added that the certification “has a direct impact on the mining industry, revolutionising logistics in extreme terrain, optimising inspections in remote areas, and improving safety by reducing risks to personnel”.
