Censys receives FAA waiver for BVLOS operations over people and vehicles

Censys Technologies has received a waiver from the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for operations using its Sentaero 5 fixed-wing eVTOL drone.

The FAA approval allows the company to extend its drone capabilities across the US with operations over people and moving vehicles without the need of visual observers.

Sentaero 5 operators will be able to fly the systems beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) in areas where people and moving vehicles may be present, which is not a standard permission for remote pilots without a waiver.

Censys Technologies says the approval will improve data collection processes in limited exposure areas, where ground risk is manageable.
