Blue Bear Systems Research reports successfully completion of beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flights using the 16km National BVLOS Experimentation Centre (NBEC) corridor which links Blue Bear headquarters and Cranfield University ATZ (Aerodrome Traffic Zone). The Blue Bear Cobra UAV operated in the same airspace as manned aviation, with piloted flights simultaneously taking place. The demonstration flights are intended to help the UK move closer to a drone integrated airspace where UAVs and piloted aircraft can coexist.
