Norwegian airport operator Avinor said 2,996 drone flights were reported in Ninox Drone, Avinor’s system for managing drones, for the month of May. This is more than twice the number recorded in May 2023.
Avinor has also now passed 10,000 registered users in Ninox Drone. The app enables drone pilots to register their flight for free before they fly. It also provides information on permitted flight areas and rules for different areas. Ninox Drone users can apply for permission to fly within the prohibition zone of five kilometres around all Norwegian airports.
