Agricultural specialist AutoSpray Systems has obtained an Operational Authorisation from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations in an Atypical Air Environment (AAE).
Company co-founder and CTO said that low-level drone operations were previously restricted by distance regulations, limiting their full potential. The BVLOS approval means the drones can reach more remote and inaccessible areas, offering services to applications such as peatland restoration, paludiculture crop seeding and reforestation.
