US Federal Aviation Administration UAS service supplier, ATA Aviation has said in a Linkedin post that a radar system has been installed in Stafford, Virginia as part of the Stafford to Warrenton to Winchester uncrewed aerial systems/advanced air mobility (UAS/AAM) enablement area.
The system, from Echodyne, is designed to improve situational awareness and safety by detecting both crewed and uncrewed aircraft in the region. The sensor’s data enables safe management of airspace and supports the integration of UAS and AAM technologies..
The enablement area is part of a broader effort to foster innovation and build future air mobility operations in Virginia.
