Altru and iSight team up on medical deliveries in Grand Forks

United States Senator for North Dakota, John Hoeven has announced that iSight Drone Services will conduct unmanned, beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flights in the Grand Forks region.

The company has finalised an agreement with Altru Health System to use uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) for transporting supplies and records between the main clinic and satellite facilities in the Grand Forks region. iSight will conduct the flights utilising the Northern Plains UAS Test Site’s Vantis network, a statewide system of sensors and radar that enable UAS to fly without a ground observer or chase plane.

In September 2023, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) accepted the test site as its first service provider for the Near-Term Approval Process (NTAP) programme. Vantis completed all four phases of the NTAP program in May 2024.
