U-space service provider Aloft has added a Notify & Fly feature to its application for B4UFLY on iOS and Android. The new function enables drone operators to let other drone pilots know that they are flying in the area. By anonymously submitting via the app, a drone pilot lets the largest audience of other drone pilots know that they are operating in the area too.
The feature is relevant to a hobbyist, a commercial pilot or saving lives as a first responder. Notify & Fly is expected to contribute to the overall safe integration of drones into the national airspace by increasing situational awareness, without sacrificing privacy.
