sUAS News reports that GE’s UTM company AirXOS has announced it will cease operations from the start of February.
According to a statement from Mark Lanphear, VP Sales and Business Development at AirXOS published on the sUAS News website:
“The aviation industry has been hard hit by COVID-19 including GE Aviation which encountered significant financial challenges in 2020 due to COVID-19 and expects a slower industry recover overall. Given this, GE Aviation is no longer able to support AiRXOS going forward and will close AiRXOS operations on February 1, 2021.
“However, GE Aviation is attempting to sell the AiRXOS business, including all services and software, which may result in a continuation of uninterrupted software services provided by AiRXOS. To that end, we will continue to keep you regularly updated as to any impact to services which AiRXOS provides to your organization.
“We appreciate your business and support during this challenging time for the aviation industry.”
