The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is looking to hire an uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) programme manager to serve as a law enforcement specialist subject matter expert for the interdiction of UAS.
The programme manager will identify emerging tracking, characterisation, intercept and disrupt technologies associated with commercially available counter-UAS. They will recommend and implement guidelines and procedures for all relevant programmes, including those that impact the resolution of nationwide problems.
Additional duties include overseeing work collecting, analysing, and disseminating information and intelligence related to countering all uncrewed systems, including aerial, marine, and terrestrial vehicles.
The programme manager will represent the Federal Protective Service (FPS) in committees, subcommittees and other uncrewed systems threat assessment and tactic groups, which directly affects the command and the evaluation of matters related to countering all uncrewed systems. They will establish and oversee programmes to ensure law enforcement and security reporting meets FPS, DHS, and judicial standards; coordinate closely with the Office of General Counsel; develop policies, practices, and doctrines; and serve as a subject matter expert regarding compliance requirements within the agency.
Applicants are required to have at least one year’s experience of reviewing emerging threat intelligence, information, or industry trends related to the protection of facilities, persons, or assets from uncrewed systems or uncrewed systems’ capabilities to ensure laws/regulations are not violated; supporting the development of mission essential programmes or policies for uncrewed systems to recommend effective strategies; and coordinating with military, federal, state, and/or local facility, security, or law enforcement organisations to assess issues concerning uncrewed system threats and response.
