Weibel Scientific and Spotter Global have announced a new partnership to develop joint solutions for counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS).
Danish company Weibel produces detection radar for detecting, tracking and classifying low, slow and small objects over long distances. The company says it is seeing increased demand for its systems and intends to be more active in developing its markets in 2025, especially in the US and Asia. Weibel has grown from DKK 325 million in revenue and 160 employees to DKK 575 million in revenue, employing more than 400 specialist engineers and technicians. Its ambition is to reach DKK 1 billion in revenue in 2025 and DKK 2.5 billion in revenue with 700 employees by 2030.
Based in the United States, Spotter Global develops and manufactures compact surveillance radar that cover areas ranging from 1 acre to 380 acres. Spotter’s C-UAS technology has been designed to detect a small DJI drone in wide areas and complex urban environments. Systems can be installed on existing infrastructure and be used as part of a mobile radar kit. The radars integrate with PTZ cameras and deterrent systems like frequency jammers.
