US airmen face drone threat in Exercise Wolverine Strike

US Airmen from the Air National Guard’s 175th Wing security forces squadron addressed a drone threat as part of Exercise Wolverine Strike which took place at Martin State Air National Guard Base, Middle River, Maryland, United States on April 5, 2025.

The drone, belonging to the 175th civil engineer squadron, was hovering over the headquarters building where wing command staff operate. The squadron was charged with assessing the threat and taking appropriate action.

The exercise was designed to test readiness across multiple capabilities against ‘near-peer adversaries’ and to identify needs for additional training or improved test procedures for future exercises.
