Yury Shchigol, head of Ukraine’s State Special Communications Service says Ukraine plans to produce and purchase approximately 200,000 combat UAVs during the year, according to Focus UA: The government official said: “40 billion hryvnias have been allocated for the development of Ukrainian drones. 25 billion hryvnias have already been spent – they have been spent under contracts for the production of 22,000 strike drones”. Ukrainian forces lose on average 40-45 reconnaissance drones per day. These are the simplest Mavic, Matrice, and large professional drones of Ukrainian and foreign production, adds Focus UA. Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said during a press conference that Ukraine will begin mass production of drones by the end of 2023.
