Swedish Air Force evaluates Loke mobile C-UAS concept

The Swedish Air Force, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), Saab and partners have successfully evaluated a new counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) technology in a timeframe of 84 days. The new Loke concept is a mobile, adaptable system for the Swedish Air Force’s combat units.

Loke is scalable and designed to cover the entire kill chain. The system includes radars such as Saab’s Giraffe 1x for detection and classification, as well as lightweight command and control based on the SHORAD concept. Effectors such as the Trackfire remote weapon station, commonly found on naval vessels, complete the system.

To meet the tight timeframe, Saab repurposed existing products and integrated new features and technologies to bring the concept together. Loke can be further enhanced with additional sensors and weapon stations.
