Saab has developed a compact and lightweight radar module for the Giraffe 1X radar. By selecting a button, the antenna folds down into the module, providing a mobile capability for fast operational requirements.
The Giraffe 1X radar can now be delivered together with the Compact Radar Module as one operational item. Its small footprint and search volume of 75 km make it suitable for urgent operations with limited operational infrastructure.
Giraffe 1X provides commanders with air defence target data, drone detection, and sense and warn capabilities simultaneously for rockets, artillery and mortars. Giraffe 1X also offers continuous software upgrades in order to meet emerging threats.
