The Special Technology Center (STC) company, together with JSC KB Raketa, has developed a new drone detector, known as Filin-I.
The Russian system is designed to identify all uncrewed aerial system (UAS) protocols used in the Russia-Ukraine military conflict region. STC says the system has a long detection range, a continuous range of operating frequencies and a scanning time of between three and 15 seconds.
Filin-I is controlled from an Android smartphone via Bluetooth. It can be placed on the roof of a vehicle while in motion and is also suitable for stationary use while the operator is in cover. Battery life is between 16 and 20 hours, depending on the ambient temperature.
STC says Filin-I’s capabilities have been confirmed both at the Russian Ministry of Defense training grounds and in the conflict zone. The production period is currently three-four months.
