Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd (Rafael) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to distribute Rafael’s TROPHY Active Protection System (APS) in India.
TROPHY APS features counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) capabilities and defences. Through this cooperation TROPHY APS will be offered as a system to be integrated on India’s defence platforms. Previous integrations include the US Army’s Abrams main battle tanks (MBT), Israel’s Merkava MBTs and Namer armoured personnel carriers, the UK’s Challenger MBTs, and Germany’s Leopard 2 MBTs.
L& T says the collaboration is in line with the Indian government initiative to “forge international partnerships to fast track the indigenisation process for critical and emerging technologies and, aligns with the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ visions”.
