Elettronica exhibited the latest version of its Anti-Drone Interception Acquisition Neutralization (ADRIAN) anti-drone system at the IDEX show in Abu Dhabi. ADRIAN is designed to manage the detection and interception of drones using a single system that can be deployed at a fixed site or mounted on a vehicle, according to a report by Analisi Difesa webmagazine.
ADRIAN uses a combination of radar, optronics, acoustic sensors and an electronic support measure (ESM) to visually detect the drone, via its radar signature and the noise of its engines and using the drone’s radio transmissions. ADRIAN merges this information, determines the type of drone and its location and presents this information to the operator. Using four different sensors to find the drone means that the aircraft can be detected even if one or more sensors have difficulty.
