Honeywell to acquire CAES with view to develop C-UAS technologies

Honeywell has agreed to acquire CAES Systems Holdings LLC (CAES) from private equity firm Advent International for approximately USD1.9 billion. The acquisition will bring new counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) technologies under the Honeywell banner. The company expects this area to grow substantially and create revenue growth for Honeywell’s Aerospace Technologies business.

In addition to developing new C-UAS capabilities, the acquisition will expand Honeywell’s portfolio including new electromagnetic defence solutions for end-to-end radio frequency (RF) signal management. The combined company will also expand work on critical platforms as well as introducing offerings on new platforms like navy radar and drones.

CAES (formerly known as Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions) has 13 facilities in North America, including highly automated manufacturing facilities with fully automated test and tuning processes. The acquisition will add approximately 2,200 employees.

The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2024.
