Hellenic Aerospace Industry developing C-UAS for Greek armed forces

Hellenic Aerospace Industry (EAV) and the soon-to-be-launched Greek Center for Innovation Development are expected to sign a counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) contract in the coming weeks, Greek news outlet Kathimerini reports.

The article states that a Greek-made Centaur anti-drone system will be integrated into Greece’s Defence Ministry’s innovation drive, officially launching a new research and development programme planned by the ministry. EAV is reportedly working on countermeasures to address drone swarms.

According to Kathimerini, EAV aims to “enhance the Centaur’s capabilities, complete both its naval and land versions, and equip the Greek armed forces”. The first stage of the programme is expected to be the installation of the Greek-made C-UAS on four MEKO frigates in the Hellenic Navy’s fleet. The article adds that the company will seek to export the system to other countries if there is enough interest.
