Eurocontrol’s Julia Sanchez and Javier Ceballos-Gutiérrez have been honoured by the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautcs (RTCA, Inc), for their contributions to counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) standards.
Julia Sanchez, an uncrewed air traffic management expert, received the Outstanding Leader award for her pivotal role in creating DO-403: system performance and interoperability requirements for non-cooperative UAS detection systems. Leading a team of experts, Julia developed a comprehensive and robust framework.
Javier Ceballos-Gutiérrez, a surveillance expert, was recognised as a Significant Contributor for his foundational work on C-UAS system architecture. His expertise in air traffic management and performance based surveillance helped define the system’s architecture and standardising interfaces.
