ELT Group has launched a new AI-based counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) product. KARMA (Kinetic Anti-drone Mobile Asset) is designed for rapid deployment in mobile and fixed configuration, for detecting, recognising and identifying class 1 and 2 UAS threats to both military assets and critical infrastructure.
KARMA is an evolution of ELT Group’s C-UAS Adrian (Anti drone interception acquisition neutralisation), which has been on the market since 2015. KARMA uses a radarless approach that provides continuous 360° surveillance via an IR camera system and AI algorithms. Threat designation data can also be sent to the platform’s fire control system, whose operator is entrusted with the decision of a possible hard kill counter action.
The C-UAS system’s radio frequency (RF) sensor is capable of detecting and identifying the RF communication protocols of drones in order to extrapolate from them the information required for countering them. The system is equipped with a jammer module, capable of transmitting RF jamming signals towards intercepted drones, and is designed to counter attacks from several opposing drones.
KARMA is a modular, scalable system that can be integrated into a more complex air defence network and adapted to the specific needs of various end users.
