DroneShield has released its 2Q25 firmware update for its suite of AI-powered Radio Frequency (RF) detection and defeat devices, including the RfPatrol Mk2 and DroneSentry-X Mk2. The update is available to all global customers enrolled in DroneShield’s software update plans.
The latest proprietary firmware is designed to enhance the detection of newly emerged drone communication protocols, including those used by improvised and non-commercial Unmanned Systems (UxS). The update provides accuracy, stability, and responsiveness updates, including simplified software, faster scans, reduced false positives, increased probability of detection, improved disruption accuracy with expanded troubleshooting, and an expanded AI detection engine which now recognises signals from custom-built and aftermarket drone platforms.
In addition, modern gRPC Remote Procedure Call APIs have been integrated to deliver richer payload data, including detailed navigation and telemetry metadata. Also, both the RFDeviceManager web interface and RfPatrol’s on-device Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) display have had User Experience and Interface (UX/UI) improvements.
Customers can also benefit from additional features via the Access Portal, which includes secure firmware downloads, the 3D Planning Tool, and the UAS Incident Platform, for advanced situational analysis and operational planning.
