Digital authorization services are now live at Nice and Cannes airports according to a LinkedIn post by AirMap. French air navigation service provider DSNA selected industry partner AirMap to lead the experimental U-space implementation trials in Côte d’Azur airspace in early 2020.The AirMap platform enables drone operators to request authorisation to fly in controlled airspace and receive contextual airspace information. By digitising the process – from the submission by a drone operator to the final approval process – the process is mapped and referenced.
DSNA is working with eight industry partners to develop a digital environment at several locations across the country. Eventually, the air navigation service provider plans to build a fully operational UTM architecture in partnership with industry.
