The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Poland’s Civil Aviation Authority have signed an agreement to develop a joint drone digital integration project worth over EUR 13.5 million.
The “Digital services for unmanned aerial vehicles” agreement, implemented under the Digital Poland Operational Programme will see the three institutions working together on the development of digital and ICT solutions for the industry.
According to a press release, the project will allow the use of unmanned aviation to a greater extent than before and will improve the conduct of training and administrative processes. Around 85 percent of the project value, was obtained from an EU grant. The project will also result in efficient coordination of a greater number of drone flights in public space and better integration of manned and unmanned aviation.

CPK – the flywheel of the economy – will be driven by innovations such as drone technologies. Thanks to the excellent cooperation of various institutions gathered around their development, we will develop a competitive advantage on the global arena, which will benefit the entire Polish aviation market.”
“Drone movement in the airspace will complement the services provided today by both traditional aviation and other forms of transport. All formal drone flight activities for the operator must be as least engaging and time – consuming as possible,” said Janusz Janiszewski, president of the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency, which is the creator of the PansaUTM system.
“Services proposed by PANSA constitute a comprehensive solution for the unmanned aerial vehicle market, citizens and entrepreneurs. The need to implement services has been confirmed by expert analysis during the assessment of the grant application,” said Ewa Siczek, director of the e-administration projects department, Centrum Cyfrowa Polska Cyfrowa.
“The project “Digital services for unmanned aerial vehicles”, thanks to which the National Drone Information System will be created, will allow the Civil Aviation Office to provide information, often unrelated to aviation and users of drones, to BSP flights in a simple, understandable and quick way. It will allow authorized authorities to react dynamically and introduce temporary restrictions for BSP in access to airspace. At the same time, it will minimize the risk of violations of law and increase of threat, both in air traffic and in the field of public safety,” said Piotr Samson, president of the Civil Aviation Office.

New jobs for highly specialized staff and evident acceleration of economic growth go hand in hand with it. Drones are a future industry in which Poland is and will be a leader. The benefits for the national economy from the implementation of drones is almost PLN 600 billion by 2026,” said Małgorzata Darowska, Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Infrastructure for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and the Central European Drone Demonstrator programme.
