Iris Automation launches ‘Waiver Resource Center’ to support commercial BVLOS operations worldwide

Iris Automation has developed a Waiver Resource Center (WRC) designed to give drone operators access to expertise and tools for managing the complex waiver submission process for all beyond line of sight (BVLOS) operations.

According to the company press release, the new product is a combination of software-as-a-service and expert aviation policy consulting that simplifies and accelerates the BVLOS waiver application process. The tool provides regulatory information and includes access to Iris Automation’s library of waiver templates. Users can purchase WRC accounts at varying levels depending on their BVLOS operations and needs.

The WRC is available to all drone operators in the US pursuing FAA BVLOS waivers including part 107.31, part 107.33, section 44807 and COA applications. Waiver Resource Center also supports Transport Canada BVLOS Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOCs), and International CAA BVLOS waivers. Unlike law firms and consultants, which bill hourly, the WRC is sold as a subscription, and pricing begins at USD350 per month.

The company is currently offering free 15-minute consultations with an Iris Automation aviation policy expert to help potential customers assess their BVLOS project, what application requirements they will have to meet, and the project’s potential for achieving a waiver.

Gabrielle Wain, Vice President of Global Policy and Government Affairs at Iris Automation. “As more companies unlock the potential of drones and look to set their commercial operations apart there is a huge need for on-demand policy experts who can write complex waivers applications for safe BVLOS flight operations.”
