Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is conducting validation testing of its latest counter Unmanned Aerial System (UAS), the Mobile Acquisition and Cueing Effector (M-ACE) concept. The unit features an extended SDS-12 stabilised aluminium tower mounted on a dedicated Ford F250 platform. The company expects to field a prototype demonstrator capability in the near term. According to a report by Jane’s, the company intends to conduct live-fire counter UAS prove out testing with the M230 Bushmaster/LW30 PROX round remotely cued from an M-ACE platform as soon as testing is permitted within the framework of current COVID-19 safety restrictions.
