Frontex — European Border and Coast Guard Agency – has launched a framework contract for the provision of mobile surveillance systems for Frontex operational activities.
The scope of this tender is to conclude a single framework contract for each of three lots with commercial providers for delivery of mobile surveillance systems. A single asset delivered shall include a four-wheel-drive vehicle with a system of surveillance sensors — thermal camera, day camera and surveillance radar installed on board, as well as a communication system, including all the necessary devices and software to control the surveillance sensors and the entire system.
The entire system shall be installed on a pickup type motor vehicle, with off-road capability, designed for use all year round (24/7), even in rough terrain. The system is operated on a daily basis up to 12 hours per day, from a stationary vehicle in the sense that the sensors are deployed above the vehicle height in an elevated observation position. The value of the contract is EUR 28 million and the time limit for receipt of tenders is 18 October.
