The Government of Telangana has submitted a proposal seeking certification for beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) along with Terra Drone India, Zipline, and Marut Drones.
The DGAC had previously invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from consortia of experts to conduct experimental BVLOS operations of remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) in India, leading to the submission of proof of concept (POC) (https://www.unmannedairspace.info/uas-traffic-management-tenders/indias-dgac-seeks-industry-partners-to-trial-bvlos-and-utm-concepts/).
Telangana, which includes the city of Hyderabad (pictured), is planning to be the first state in India to adopt wide-ranging BVLOS operations. It has developed a ‘Telangana Drone City’ concept where a new urban ecosystem will be built, based on UAS technologies
