The United States Army’s 10th Mountain Division has provided radar systems to assist US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) efforts in Arizona.
CBP has witnessed an increase in uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) used by drug cartels to surveil patrol agents and move illicit drugs into the United States.
On March 12, soldiers with the unit installed and provided training for AN/TPQ-53 and AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel radars which are capable of detecting and tracking drones.
