ASELSAN reports that the first test launch of its GÖKSUR Vertical Launch System (VLS) was a success. The system is a component of Türkiye’s layered air defense system, known as Steel Dome, which is also effective in the protection of naval assets against threats from missiles, uncrewed aerial systems and manned aircraft.
GÖKSUR has been developed by ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE, to meet the needs of the Turkish Navy. The system has multiple configurations. Features include 360-degree threat elimination capability, infrared seeker-guided munitions, effectiveness against low-flying threats, multi-engagement capability, and an AI-supported fire control system. Its modular architecture enables integration with platforms of various sizes, allowing for independent operation or integration with the platform’s combat management system.
