Danish software company Skypuzzler has joined the Global UTM Association (GUTMA).
Skypuzzler’s integrated Digital Air Traffic Control (iDATC) is an add-on module to UTM systems, designed to provide tactical deconfliction in real-time with a holistic traffic view to foresee and mitigate potential conflicts, enabling drones to fly beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS). In 2024, the company was selected by the European Innovation Council to receive funding for its integrated Digital Air Traffic Control (iDATC).
In December, Skypuzzler concluded its kick-start project with the European Space Agency, which was a feasibility study of Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) for drones. The project introduced Skypuzzler’s AC-DC (Autonomous deConfliction of Drone-Congested areas) module, which uses satellite navigation resources such as GPS and Galileo HAS technologies in different combinations to drive improvements in flight safety and airspace usage, and ensure greater levels of electronic conspicuity.
GUTMA represents organisations involved in innovative drone services and smart mobility solutions enabled by services that keep drone operations at all altitudes safe and efficient. It works to create an aligning framework, where ATM and UTM can converge.
