Wolt and Manna team up for drone delivery pilot in southern Finland

Technology company Wolt and Irish drone company Manna are starting a drone pilot in Espoo, Finland. The pilot will start this month and the goal is to test the functionality and practicality of drone transport, especially in cold and challenging winter conditions.

Manna is fully certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The drone flies at an altitude of approximately 60–70 metres at a maximum speed of 80 kilometres per hour. Upon arriving at the customer’s location, the drone descends to 15 metres and lowers the delivery using a rope.

Initially, drones will only be tested in the Niittykumpu region of Espoo and the immediate surrounding area.
