DroneShield has released the latest update to its full range of Radio Frequency (RF) sensors including the RfPatrol Mk2, DroneSentry-X and RfOne models.
This update adds new drone models and communication protocols which can be identified by RFAI, including new types of home-made or non-commercial uncrewed systems.
The 4Q24 release also offers faster scanning with AI. The company says detection scans are now 17 percent faster. Settings can be configured to further optimise scan time based on mission requirements.
In addition, the update includes greater control of positioning systems, faster and more regular disruption protocols, increased direction-finding accuracy, and future-proofing features for upcoming performance improvements in 2025.
Onboard firmware has also been boosted with new cybersecurity improvements.
DroneShield has also announced that it has brought several Australian defence and government strategists into the business, both at executive and advisory roles. Terry van Haren joins as Vice President, Strategy after 35 years of service in the Royal Australian Air Force as a Commander, fighter pilot, and weapons officer. Kym (Koz) Osley has been appointed Strategic Advisor, bringing 45+ years of experience working with the Australian Defence Force and industry. Fergus (Gus) McLachlan, a retired Major General in the Australian Army, serving for 37 years, also joins as a Strategic Advisor. Gus also serves as a Senior Advisor for Defence and National Security at the University of Sydney. Kacey Lam-Evans has been appointed DroneShield’s Government Affairs Director. She has directly advised Australian government ministers and was Senior Advisor to the 54th Australian Minister for Defence.
