MARSS has completed the installation and crew sign-off of its NiDAR system aboard a 120-metre superyacht and will be completing the installation on the yacht’s 70-metre support vessel in the coming weeks as part of a USD4 million contract.
The NiDAR system includes counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) and surface surveillance capabilities completed testing on board the superyacht. In a series of unannounced drone flights, conducted by the yacht’s security team, NiDAR tracked the drones and provided alerts. The security team was also able to track and locate an unscheduled camera drone, as well as identifying both the launching vessel and its pilot. The system incorporates Echoshield radars paired with Aaronia X9 sensors for drone detection and tracking.
